Okay, I let my excitement get the better of me. =)
This
past week has been eventful, as per the norm. We have been hard at work
to find people, teach, and preach repentance. We have found some new
people that we just love. We have 5 people on date (which means that we
have invited them to be baptized on a certain date and they have said
yes to that date) and they are all just amazing. 2 of them are men in
their 20's, of whom we can teach because we're in a trio which is a
miracle, and they are just sweethearts. There are certain people who you
meet in your mission that just hold a special spot in your heart and
these men have made it there for me. I feel like we get along really
well and I'm so grateful to be making friends here. I know that I knew
some of these people, including these two young men, before I came to
earth.
-Part of our believes as Latter-Day Saints is that
Heavenly Father created a plan for us called the Plan of Salvation and
that it started before we were born on the earth. We as humans are made
of our physical bodies and our spirits, so when I say that we lived
before earth life, I mean that our spirits existed and lived with our
Havenly Father before we were given a physical body. When we lived with
Heavenly Father and all of our brothers and sisters, other humans,
Heavenly Father presented His plan to us. All of us here on earth chose
His plan; He created the earth to give us somewhere we can live so that
we may learn and grow to become like Him one day. (For more information
on the Plan of Salvation, please feel free to email me privately or go
to lds.org)-
The
other people that we have on date are spiritually prepared; the Lord has
given them what they need to be able to accept us, the missionaries, at
this time. These are the type of miracles that I love to see in my
ministry. I am able to watch someone I never would have thought accept
the gospel tell me that they want to be baptized. I get to hear their
stories and experiences with the church before we had knocked on their
door. I love watching their faces change as we share our message out in
the cold on their doorstep. These people are precious to me and the Lord
has blessed me to be able to watch their miracles.
I'm so
excited to help my brothers and sisters accept Christ and His gospel by
accpeting baptism into His church. I know that I am meant to be a
missionary in this time and in this place. How great is my calling to
help our Savior bring our siblings unto the truth.
Besides
amazing lessons with just as amazing people, this week has been fairly
uneventful. I'm trying my best to serve the sisters I'm over (of which
there are 6) which brings interesting experiences. I'm striving to
understand 18 and 19 year old male brains (almost impossible feat, just
saying) so as to work well with the elders in my area. I'm trying new
food, putting myself out there, and praying A LOT. I love my life, I
love my companions, and I love my mission.
I
hope that all of you are doing great and learning lots. I hope that you
let yourself try new things, get messy, and make mistakes (yes, another
quote, sorry =) ). The things you'll regret in the future are the things
that you don't do now. I love you all and remember who you are!
Till next week,
Hermana Lindh
