Daughtry!

Last Friday night, I went to my first ever concert! I went with my friend, Zac Carico, to see Daughtry live!! It was our graduation gift from both of our parents.

We went out to eat before going to the concert which started at 6:45. The restaurant was Floyds and it was so yummy! My family and I have not always been keen on the seafood idea but Zac really likes it and I was willing to try something new. For an appetizer, we had alligator.... like, the big scary reptile, alligator. But, it was pretty good! =) I then tried crawfish for the first time and that also was really good. Overall, Floyds was great!

Next, we hit the road. The drive took us almost two hours because of construction and the normal rush hour. But, we did eventually make it, safely, to the concert. And was it worth it! The Plain White Tees opened for Daughtry, of whom Zac and I both like. When Daughtry came on though, I nearly freaked out I was so excited! I absolutely LOVE Daughtry and being able to see them live was just a dream come true! They opened with one of their newest songs, Baptized, and Zac and I sang along the entire time.
Chris Daughtry is an phenomenal singer and he was just as good live as he is recorded. I was very impressed. =)

I am so grateful to have a friend who loves Daughtry as much as I do. Having Zac there with me made the evening go so much better! Friends make everything more special and Zac is a great friend. I'm also so grateful to my parents for having followed the promptings they received. They could've gone with an "easier" gift (or no gift at all) but they chose to listen to the prompting they received. Because of their love and willingness to listen, I had a FANTASTIC night!!! I have the absolute best parents ever! Zac's parents are just as great! They also felt the same prompting and were willing to work with my parents. They gave Zac a prepaid credit card for his graduation gift which he used for dinner at Floyds. I am truly surrounded by some of the best people in the world. =)

Now, I did promise my mom pictures, so here they are!

Welcome Back!

As has happened with most of my journal attempts, I stopped posting for a long time, choosing instead to post on Facebook. But, I'm back now and you'll never be able to stop me from talking! =)

The last two years have been very busy and exciting. My family moved from Reno, NV to Houston, TX in January 2013 in the middle of the school year. I played softball, passed my classes, and barely survived junior year. Senior year was then gone in the blink of an eye. I finished out my band career with marching band and concert band. I also participated in Honor Band and got my first job.
I worked while in school; I also took some college courses through a program called Dual Credit and prepared for college. I graduated June 7th, 2014 and now I'm a full fledged adult!

Okay, now that I'm a little caught up (for details, look at Facebook =) ), time for the fun stuff.

Recently, I have started community college. I am taking 14 credits which are: chemistry, learning frameworks (a required class), Texas gov., and statistics. Next semester I plan to take the maximum credits allowed, all so that I can earn my associates degree by June of 2015. Once I have earned my AA, I will be turning in my papers so that I can go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The mission is for 1 1/2 years and I will learn where I will serve once I've turned in my papers.
After I serve a mission, I plan to attend a 4 yr. university (choices being so far: BYU Provo, U of H, UT San Antonio, or UT Arlington) and major in nursing. Once I have my BSN, I plan to take the steps to become a registered nurse, an RN. I want to work in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), PICU (pediatric intensive care unit), or the emergency room. I think that nursing is a great fit for my personality and nursing is also what I feel like the Lord wants me to do.
Everything that I'm preparing to do is because I have received promptings from my Heavenly Father. I know that if I follow Him, I will be happy. As such, I'm so excited for the next step in my life! I can't wait to become a nurse and to serve a mission!

That will be all for my first post back from a looooonnnnngggg break. =) Keep and eye out for future posts!
